Buff-winged Macaw (Ara ambigua) — A large, powerful macaw native to the rainforests of Central and South America, also known as the Great Green Macaw. It is recognized by its predominantly green body, pale buff-colored wing feathers, red forehead, and strong black-and-ivory beak.
Buff-winged macaws are intelligent, social birds that form strong pair bonds in the wild and live in small flocks. They are known for their calm but confident demeanor, loud calls, and strong chewing ability. Due to their size and intelligence, they require significant space, enrichment, and experienced care in captivity.
